OUR HISTORY
TGT was founded in 1999 for the inquisitive, independent-minded traveler and over the last quarter century has grown into one of the principal purveyors of high-end cultural tours in the country. We strive to capture the spirit of the classic cultural pilgrimage made by British and Americans who, beginning in the 17th century, wished to complete their educations by observing the great sites of the classical age and Renaissance in person. This sojourn abroad—a movable feast of history, architecture, fine art, good food, and often general revelry—came over time to be known as THE GRAND TOUR.
